چکیده
Based on the development of adhesive dentistry, minimally invasive restorations in ceramics are used as alternativesto restore a tooth. Dental largely applied dentistry field mainly due to their esthetic andmechanical strength. One ceramic properties be well known before its use is wear resistance thatshould compatible with antagonist behavior avoid unwanted performance. Therefore, severalmethods have been performed assess materials considering different conditionspresent complex oral medium. This study aimed compile methods investigate dental ceramicswear and describe mechanisms involved them. Obtaining analyzing data also addressed todiscuss results obtained from methods, clinical analysis future perspectiveson this topic. In conclusion, many methodologies available measure wear. themethods must selected based significance each should follow previously reportedparameters for standardization, allowing literature comparison. Wear performance of monolithic dental ceramics with different surface treatments.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the two-body wear performance of monolithic dental ceramics with different surface treatments. METHOD AND MATERIALS Standardized specimens (n = 8/ series) were fabricated from three monolithic dental ceramics (experimental translucent zirconia, experimental shaded zirconia, lithium disilicate). Four groups of each material were defined according to clinically relevant...
متن کاملFatigue of dental ceramics.
OBJECTIVES Clinical data on survival rates reveal that all-ceramic dental prostheses are susceptible to fracture from repetitive occlusal loading. The objective of this review is to examine the underlying mechanisms of fatigue in current and future dental ceramics. DATA/SOURCES The nature of various fatigue modes is elucidated using fracture test data on ceramic layer specimens from the denta...
متن کاملWear properties of dental ceramics and porcelains compared with human enamel.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Contemporary pressable and computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) ceramics exhibit good mechanical and esthetic properties. Their wear resistance compared with human enamel and traditional gold based alloys needs to be better investigated. PURPOSE The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the 2-body wear resistance of human enamel, gold alloy, and 5 differe...
متن کاملWear of dental amalgam.
The wear of cental amalgam was studied by single- and double-pass sliding and by a silicon carbide abrasion test. A dispersed amalgam showed significantly better resistance to two-body abrasion than the spherical amalgams tested. The wear amalgam was determined by resistance to penetration and by a ductile mode of surface failure over the load range studied. Differences in the wear of amalgam a...
متن کاملWear of Aged Dental Composites
Surface morphology and wear characteristics of five dental composites subjected to accelerated aging were investigated. Aging conditions caused degradation of the surface as evidenced by the formation of microcracks and the exposure and loss of filler particles. Wear parameters such as track width, transition load and mode of surface failure caused by single-pass sliding were influenced by agin...
